Citizens Advisory Committee 2025
Angleton ISD formed the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) in Spring 2025 to support the district in making informed decisions regarding future growth and long-term facility needs. This group, made up of community members, parents, and staff, is tasked with reviewing data, identifying priorities, and providing valuable input on the development of potential bond projects.
The CAC was established following the work of the Facility Steering Committee (FSC)—a smaller group of district staff and community members formed in Fall 2024. The FSC conducted a thorough review of a comprehensive facilities audit, demographic data, and other relevant information to determine whether a future bond should be considered. Their recommendation to move forward with further exploration led to the formation of the CAC.
As part of the district’s strategic plan, Achieve 2026, one key objective was to develop a long-term facilities plan. The first step in that process was a comprehensive facilities assessment, completed in Spring 2024 by architectural firm PBK. The study focused on identifying priority maintenance and repair needs across all campuses.
The report revealed that for three existing campuses—Northside Elementary, Southside Elementary, and Angleton Junior High—the projected cost of renovations and ongoing maintenance would eventually exceed the cost of full replacement. In addition, the study outlined the need for renovations and upgrades at every school in the district to ensure safe, functional, and future-ready learning environments.
