These new attendance zones will not go into effect until the 2025-2026 school year. As we have prepared to open two additional schools – Heartland Elementary and Heritage Junior High - in the Fall of 2025, we created the new attendance zones to accommodate the new schools and the continued growth in the district.

In September 2024, an internal AISD committee reviewed the input from a survey that was open to all stakeholder groups from May 8-August 30, 2024. The district made appropriate changes based on the information collected, and the district produced redrawn drafts of the attendance zones.

In October 2024, a second committee made up of parents, community members, and campus staff met to provide feedback to the AISD administration on the suggested redrafted attendance zones. The final zones were presented to the AISD Board of Trustees for approval at the December 2024 board meeting.
