Earlier today, Rancho Isabella administration received a report that a student made a comment about bringing a gun to school. Administration immediately investigated the report and found it not to be a credible threat. The student made a poor choice with their comments. Students and staff were not in any danger, and the campus did not go into lockdown because there was no imminent or credible threat.
We want to assure you that we take every report seriously and investigate every report thoroughly. We are committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for our students and staff, and their safety remains our top priority.
We continue to ask parents to talk with their children about the seriousness of making threatening comments of any kind. There are serious consequences for making threatening comments in person or online. AISD will follow the Student Code of Conduct to determine appropriate consequences for students who make threats or threatening comments, which may include placement at an alternative campus. Also, law enforcement may be involved to determine any legal consequences.
We also ask students and parents to report any concerns immediately through one of the district’s reporting resources:
Contact or tell a campus administrator.
Contact or tell the AISD Police (979-997-7220).
Use the Anonymous Alerts system through the app or by clicking https://report.anonymousalerts.com/angletonisd/ or by visiting the AISD website and going to Keep AISD Safe (See it, Report it).
Call Crime Stoppers at 800-460-2222.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the campus.
