Earlier today, a fire alarm went off at Southside Elementary. Students and staff were immediately evacuated. There was no fire. The alarm was triggered by a fire system device going off when it sensed other particles in the air, but there was no fire and no smoke.
The Angleton ISD Maintenance Department responded to the alarm and determined there were no issues, and students and staff returned to school as normal.
