Attention Parents of Students at CATS and PACE

Earlier today, students and staff at CATS Academy and PACE Academy were evacuated after the kitchen staff reported a burning smell. No students and staff were in danger. It was a small electrical short in one of the pieces of equipment in the kitchen. There was no fire.
The Angleton Fire Department, the AISD Maintenance Department, and AISD safety and security personnel responded to the call from the school. The fire department has checked the building to make sure it is safe, and students and staff have returned to school as normal.
