Brazoria County and AISD do not presently have any cases of measles, but we would like to make sure our parents and staff are informed. Two doses of MMR are recommended for optimal immunity, with the second dose given no sooner than 28 days after the first. For most everyone, these two doses were given on a recommended schedule at age 12 months and 4-5 years. It takes 14 days after receiving the MMR vaccination for the development of immunity to the measles. If fully vaccinated there is no recommended action at this time. If you have questions, please contact your family physician, campus nurse or Health Services Coordinator Dena Bryson at 979-864-8054.

The Greater Angleton Chamber of Commerce hosted their Leadership Angleton Education Session on Wednesday — and we were thrilled to welcome them to the CTE building as part of their day! Participants toured several of our incredible programs, including welding, floral design, cosmetology and barbering, health science, and many more. The visit wrapped up with a delicious lunch at the Wildcat Bistro, prepared and served by our talented AHS culinary students. We’re proud to showcase the hands-on learning and career-ready skills our students are developing every day! Thank you to the Chamber for visiting AISD.

Angleton ISD has continued to make a strong commitment to the AISD Fine Arts programs and is introducing Tony Stewart as the new, full-time AISD Director of Fine Arts. "We have seen such success in our fine arts these past few years, and we want to continue to build on that success and grow our programs to new heights, especially as we continue to grow as a district," AISD Superintendent Phil Edwards said. "By making a full-time fine arts director position, we will have someone who is focused on leading that way and supporting each program to help fully develop them. It's an investment in the future of our fine arts programs, and we think Mr. Stewart is the right one for the job to help us continue to achieve excellence." Stewart makes the move to his new position from Angleton High School, where he served as Director of Choirs. A new director of choirs will be named in the upcoming days. Please help us congratulate Mr. Stewart as he takes on his new role as AISD Director of Fine Arts! #AchievingExcellence #BecauseWereWildcats

At the March school board meeting, Angleton ISD recognized several students for their achievements. TMEA All-State Choir - Noah Grant Noah was recently selected as an All-State singer by the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA). Being selected to TMEA All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can achieve. Only the top 2.6% of musicians who initially audition become All-State musicians. About 70,000 students initially entered the TMEA All-State competitive process, and only 1,875 students were selected to perform in 18 All-State ensembles. Noah competed through a multi-level audition process to qualify for this prestigious honor. He was ranked 3rd chair baritone in the greater Houston area and performed in the Mixed Choir, which is the top vocal ensemble for TMEA, last month for thousands of conference attendees. AHS Swim & Diving UIL State Qualifiers UIL State is the highest level of competition. The following students qualified and recently competed at the state meet: -- Jai’Lynn Thompson - 1 Meter Diving -- Stefanija Fletcher - 100 Breaststroke -- Jayden Marksberry - 100 Butterfly --Girls Relay Team of Deveyn Edge, Stefanija Fletcher, Emma Marroquin, and Emily Eady - 200 Medley -- Boys Relay Team of Ean Arbogast, Alejandro Medina, Jayden Marksberry and Luke Cook - 200 Freestyle Relay & 400 Freestyle Relay Congratulations to all our amazingly talented AHS students! #AchievingExcellence #BecauseWereWildcats

During March’s meeting, the Angleton ISD Board of Trustees approved key measures to support district initiatives, including early childhood education and teacher development. The board approved the 2025-2026 Pre-K tuition rate for students who do not qualify under free Pre-K eligibility requirements established by the state. The rate will remain the same as it was this past school year, and the district will continue to offer free Pre-K to those who do meet the state’s eligibility requirements “Our goal is to continue to provide high-quality early learning opportunities for our AISD families,” AISD Director of Elementary Education Maria Macedo said. “We know how important it is to lay a strong educational foundation as early as possible and, therefore, think it’s critical to offer a rate that is as low as possible to our families so we can help as many future Wildcats as possible find success starting from the earliest of age.” In addition, the board approved several new hires, including Tony Stewart as the new fine arts director and Mike Harmon as the new transportation director.
